Acoustical Ceilings Tiles

MCR Building Supplies Ltd. is proud to have OWA Ceiling Systems as a trusted partner. Being one of the world leaders in ceiling systems, OWA is where tradition meets innovation. OWA’s drive and commitment towards product innovation and development creates value for customers across all industries. OWA has been delivering premium ceiling solutions to customers around the world for over 70 years!!! They are the true meaning of the high quality “Made in Germany” products. Here’s more information about OWA’s fascination story.

Company foundation

OWA has been the market leading manufacturer of suspended ceiling systems in Germany since the start and in recent decades has become a major supplier across the world. The current Odenwald Faserplattenwerk GmbH (OWA) was founded by Friedrich-Karl Rogge in the town of Amorbach in the year 1948. OWA had grown into a major provider in the wood fibre acoustic and soundproof panel market by 1960, when Friedrich-Karl Rogge discovered a new material in America which had fascinating characteristics: mineral wool. He immediately went on to develop his own mineral ceiling tiles featuring a host of innovations. Courage and a spirit of invention – traits that still characterise the family-run firm OWA today.

The brand OWAcoustic

Just one year later, things started moving quickly: In 1961 OWA became Europe’s first supplier of mineral ceiling tiles. OWAcoustic, the ceiling system brand, was launched and soon became established worldwide.

Proprietary production techniques

Milestone year 1977: The most modern facility for the production of mineral wool of its day began operation. OWA starts using volcanic basalt in production, yielding “black wool” that was to become the hallmark and key material in OWAcoustic products for over 20 years.

1997: By switching to “white wool”, OWA aligned itself with the latest developments in ecological issues. White wool is made of a natural mixture of sand, recycled glass and limestone. Because of its excellent biosolubility, this new mineral wool complies with all major international regulations/standards for health and safety.

Products are constantly checked and production closely monitored, in addition to inspections conducted by independent institutes.

Insulation

From schools to businesses to family homes, our insulation works everywhere. Its expert engineering lets you create the most comfortable environment without compromising your design. Here’s the type we carry.

Cellulose Insulation:

Cellulose is an ideal overall insulation solution. With a single product applicable in the entire envelope of the building, you will be able to provide your customers with all the advantages and benefits of an efficient, affordable, eco-friendly and sustainable thermal and acoustic insulation.

Fiberglass Insulation:

Fiberglass Insulation offers many solutions for the thermal as well as acoustic isolation of interior and exterior spaces. In any home or building, noise control is always a high priority, whether the goal is to keep the sound away from certain rooms like bedrooms or offices, or contained in other rooms like workshops, bathrooms or home theatres. Proper insulation can also save homeowners a bundle in heating and cooling costs. Fiberglass insulation offers a variety of products for a wide range of interior and exterior wall applications, all designed to help you achieve your performance objectives economically while offering substantial moisture resistance.

Mineral Wool Insulation:

Stone wool (or mineral wool) was discovered on the islands of Hawaii around the beginning of the nineteenth century and occurs as a natural byproduct of volcanic activity. There is something uniquely exciting about turning an abundant natural resource into products that enrich modern life. In its manufactured state, stone wool delivers unique benefits as an insulation solution. In part due to its non-directional fiber orientation, stone wool also exhibits unique benefits such as Fire resilience, Thermal properties, Acoustic capabilities and more.

Trim-Tex

Trim-Tex has been designing and producing the industry’s finest and most innovative line of vinyl drywall accessory products for over 50 years. Besides being economical, vinyl drywall accessories are more flexible and durable than metal and will not rust, kink or dent.

Trim-Tex coined the phrase “drywall art”, which accurately describes the adaptive use of materials and accessories to enhance the standard flat and squared edged world of drywall. Drywall art can be found in a variety of forms, including decorative archways, rounded edges, and even reveal effects such as shelves and stepped ceilings.

We strive to offer the best metal roofing and siding products and to provide our customers with outstanding service at a competitive price.

Security Mesh

MCR offers a wide range of expanded security mesh. Security mesh is a versatile, affordable, and useful product. It is produced using a cold metal forming process. First, a metal sheet is stretched and slit uniformly; then, openings are made with regular gaps in different shapes, including diamond, round, square, rectangular, etc. The shapes tend to add strength and rigidity to the expanded metal. The openings tend to ensure the smooth flow of light, liquids, and air, making the expanded metal a multipurpose product.

Expanded mesh can be used for protection equipment or devices in the industrial sector and home. It’s commonly used for the filtration process, decorative use, screening, ventilation, and security purposes.

Rebar

Rebar (short for reinforcing bar), known when massed as reinforcing steel or reinforcement steel, is a steel bar or mesh of steel wires used as a tension device in reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry structures to strengthen and aid the concrete under tension. Concrete is strong under compression, but has weak tensile strength. Rebar significantly increases the tensile strength of the structure. Rebar’s surface is often “deformed” with ribs, lugs or indentations to promote a better bond with the concrete and reduce the risk of slippage.
